Air suspension is becoming increasingly popular among motorhome owners, as it offers a number of advantages over traditional suspension systems.
Towbar extensions, spacer blocks
Is your towbar too short? Is the towball too close to the mounting surface? Are you not able to attach a trailer with a stabiliser (e.g. AL-KO) because the towball is too close to the bumper?
These problems do not just affect owners of pick-ups, panel vans, delivery trucks or off-road vehicles. Most drivers who have a bicycle rack on the tow bar or a spare wheel on the tailgate face similar problems. Hitching is usually straightforward, but manoeuvring with the trailer or opening the boot can be tricky. The solution - a towball extension or spacer block.
How does a towbar extension work?
Spacer block is fitted between the towbar and towball. This can increase the distance of the towball by up to 125 mm. This solution also allows you to remove any flange towball that is attached to the front of the hook.
In our range you will find extensions and spacers for both towball types (flange tow balls), which are mounted with two M16 bolts and a distance of 90 mm, and flange towballs, which are mounted with four (M10 or M12) bolts and a hole pattern of 83 x 56 mm (56 x 83 mm).
Choose the right distance plate for your car's towbar and solve any problems caused by a towbar that is too short.
This type of extension cannot be used with detachable towbars or gooseneck towbars. If you have this type of towbar and your problem is with a towbar mounted bike carrier, you will find the right solution in the bike carrier extensions.
If your towball is too high or too low, we also offer towball drop plates.
