Umbra Rimorchi, manufacturer of high quality towbars, can trace its origins back to the founding of "Giara Ganci Traino" in Turin in 1963, which heralded a pioneering era in the design and manufacture of towbars. The company's origins lie in Alba, in the fertile Langhe region, during the Italian economic boom of the 1970s.

Umbra Rimorchi was founded in Perugia in 1976 by three local craftsmen, initially specialising in the manufacture of light trailers and towbars. Over time, the company established contacts with other companies in the sector, leading to successful partnerships and collaborations throughout Italy.

A major change occurred in 1995, when the owner of a towbar manufacturer took control of one of Umbra Rimorchi's partners and centralised the production of both product groups in a single plant of national importance.
