In motorhomes with a special camper body it is not possible to fit a simple towbar for a panel van, camper van (B-Class) or cab chassis vehicle. This is because the car chassis frame is usually extended. In RVs such as A-Class, Coachbuilt design it is necessary to fit a universal variable towbar.

This adjustable towbar is a fixed device with a flange towball designed for retrofitting to motorhomes. The flange towing ball is screwed to the front of the trailer hitch and can be removed if required. The fixed towbar with flange tow ball is available in two different versions and can also be extended.

The towbar is supplied with a two-hole towball as standard. This is the cheapest version and has the advantage that the flanged towball can still be adjusted in height. The four-hole towball is slightly more expensive and the towball mount can only be adjusted in height on the side brackets. The advantage of a four-hole towball is that the towbar can be extended to fit a wide range of accessories.

The adjustable towbar is a tested device that has received an official EU homologation certificate. This means that it is safe to use on public roads in almost every country in the world.

Frame extension required

The installation of this towbar requires a load-bearing vehicle frame extension. If your vehicle does not have a frame extension, change category and select a compatible chassis extension. The type of motorhome – C-class, A-class or coachbuilt with overcab bed- is less important. Thanks to the adjustable brackets, the towbar fits almost any type of motorhome. Almost all of the towbar components can be rotated or swapped from left to right. This makes the towbar adjustable in three directions: width, height and length. The versatility of the towbar can be further increased by using the special side plates. The side plates are lattice plates with three to five rows of holes to adapt the height of the towbar to any RV.

Because the tow bar is adjustable and has multiple mounting points, it is also very universal. For this reason, the tow bar is compatible with all common frame extensions (XIMPLIO, SMV-Metall, Linnepe, SAWIKO and many others) and can be used with products from other manufacturers.
