Adapter for trailer coupling from NATO to EU
Welcome to X-CAMPING, your expert for towbar accessories! With our NTU90 adapter, we offer a clever solution for converting a NATO towbar to the EU standard with a 50 mm ball.
The NATO towing hitch, which is known for its strength off-road, often has its limits in daily use on normal roads. The atypical hole pattern (85 x 45 mm) of the NATO towball makes it impossible to interchange with European towbars. EU towbars are either fitted with two M16 bolts hitch ball at a distance of 90 mm or with four M10 or M12 bolts with a hole pattern of 83 x 56 mm.
Our adapter plates allows the NATO hole pattern (85 x 45 mm) to be converted to the EU standard hole pattern (90 mm) and vice versa. After conversion, any EU trailer with a towing capacity of up to 3500 kg can be fitted to the adapter.
Alternatively, the NATO towing eye can be replaced by an adapted design that resembles a NATO hook, with the hook replaced by a towball.
