The kit works independently and has its own bypass relay so it can be fitted to any car and any wiring harness from any manufacturer.

This extension intelligently charges the caravan battery, meaning that the module only switches on when two conditions are met:

• The caravan is connected to the towbar,
• The caravan's engine is running.

The 13-pin wiring harness extension can also be used to independently adjust the trigger threshold for the battery charging line. This means that the charging of the trailer battery is only activated when the car battery voltage exceeds a certain value. This avoids situations where the car battery is discharged.
